EVENT DESCRIPTION:

The CBA is excited to offer its members a new venture in blacksmithing education.

Victoria Ritter will host the first of a series of CBA interactive, online, blacksmith educational classes.  Using a series of photos and video clips, Victoria will provide detailed instruction on forge welding principles and how to perform three basic types of forge welds using the Basket Handle project as a platform.  Participants will leave the discussion with a thorough understanding of how to construct a basket handle and the three types of forge welds involved:  faggot, drop-tong and collar.  This is a great project to learn or brush up on your forge welding skills and can be used on the end of a fire poker or steak turners for gifts.  The materials used in the discussion will be 2 rods of 1/4 inch round bar cut to 12 inch lengths and 2 rods of 3/8 inch square cut to 18 or 20 inch lengths.

Participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions using the Zoom chat tools.  Then there will be discussion time at the end.  Don’t miss this first of its kind event/workshop!
