DESCRIPTION:

This will be a fun, family friendly event with a little bit of something for everyone, including:
  • Adam's Forge instructors and students demonstrating some of the projects that we teach in our classes!
  • A team of blacksmiths working with sledgehammers, showcasing team striking techniques to create and assemble a 3 piece sculpture using traditional joinery. If you've never seen team striking before, it is not to be missed!
  • Master blacksmith Mark Aspery demonstrating the techniques to create chain link, including making the tooling. If you don't know Mark Aspery, you should! He wrote the book that we use for our CBA Level 1 and 2 classes, "The Skills of a Blacksmith."
  • Metal artist Pat Downing, a regular guest instructor, in from San Diego to demonstrate copper fold-forming.
  • The incredible Tony Swatton from Sword and the Stone, demonstrating his expertise in arms and armor. If you've ever seen a movie, you've seen Tony's work.
  • We'll also have an "ask-a-blacksmith" booth, a tomahawk toss, a clay forging station (for the wee folk), food trucks, and more.
  • We'll have hand-forged items for sale, made and donated by local blacksmiths, so come stock up on gifts for friends and family!

More information and tickets available here: Adam's Forge Festival

Adam's Forge is a 501(c)3 non-profit blacksmithing school and community in Los Angeles, run almost entirely by volunteers. We are one of only a handful of organizations of this kind in the country. Due to a resurgence in interest in the ancient art of blacksmithing, we are literally bursting at the seams. We have a unique opportunity to build our own building, a permanent home, at the Heritage Square Museum located near Deb's Park. Because of this we are kicking off a capital campaign to enable us to add more space, expand our class offerings, and enable more outreach to the community. 100% of funds raised at the Festival and during our capital campaign will go toward further this mission. It is with your support that we are able to thrive. We do hope that you will join us at the festival, and/or consider making a donation to support Adam's Forge.
