Drop in on the Open House at Wrought Academy on Saturday, January 28th (10am to 6pm) to see a working smithy in the heart of industrial West Oakland. Part Alchemical Laboratory and part industrial arts facility, James Austin's shop is a gathering place dedicated to traditional crafts. At 3:00 pm we'll bust out the recent batch of Mead for tasting (adults only). We'd like to send you home with some great impressions of the shop and help us get the word out about the educational opportunities and resources at Wrought Academy!
Making Viking Age Tool Steel will be taught on April 8th and 9th. The students and I will delve into the alchemy of iron and carbon as we recreate the tool and weapon steel of the Viking age. Click HERE to see how this is accomplished at Wrought Academy.
