DESCRIPTION:

LEAD DEMONSTRATOR - Pat Quinn
CENTER FOR METAL ARTS, FLORIDA, NEW YORK

My work is driven by process. I am very interested in the physical properties of metal and how they can be manipulated through the combination of applications such as heat and pressure. I find it important to make all aspects of my work by hand, including nuts and bolts.

Hand-making all aspects of my work, including hardware, puts me in touch with tradition and history, most specifically a time period where all items and tools were made by local craftsmen. In addition, it gives my work an original feel.

IN THE EDUCATION AREA - ANDREW DOHNER

Andrew Dohner, a sculptor and blacksmith who is also third generation steel worker from central
Pennsylvania, will be our education demonstrator. He will be assisted by Eric Smith.
