Sharing our Craft Skills, Promoting Historic Preservation, and Exploring the Architectural Heritage of Buenos Aires
DATE: February 29 through March 10, 2016
LOCATION: Buenos Aires
COST: $975/person not including round-trip airfare to Buenos Aires
MORE DETAILS: Buenos Aires Tour
PURPOSE:
Our journey begins with a walking tour to view the city’s noted architecture and turn-of-the-century artistic ironwork. We will then present a 3-day demonstration/workshop with the purpose of reintroducing blacksmithing and professional crafts. The demonstration site will be a community park and open to the public. Local people and school students will be included. During the demonstration days, blacksmiths will build a sculpture to be donated to the park. The trip also includes a day excursion to a historic estancia (ranch) in the countryside and free time for cultural activities, shopping, and independent exploration.
